Another traumatic night for Timberwolves fans

So, 2008 NBA draft is behind us. At the end of the day we finished with Kevin Love, Pekovic, Mike Miller and two shitty parts which names does not deserve to be spelled... But, let's return to the start of the night and analyse this drat from the beginning.
It started as expected. Rose goes to Chicago and Beasley to Miami. McHale does most logical thing and picks up Mayo. Everybody's happy with this move, but still afraid of potential trade down. Sonics draft Westbrook, and this is great thing for us. He isn't worth #4 in any case. Nothing unexpected happens in next 6 picks, no sign of any trade and we can start celebrating. Mayo is most likely Timberwolf! Portland again makes great job. They aquire Bayless from Indiana, and now their lineup looks very, very scary... Rest of the 1st round picks went more or less as expected, but a few interesting players dropped to 2nd round(CDR, Jordan, Walker, Hardin...). As we had #31 and #34 I've expected to pick either Jordan or Hardin becouse we were soo small at that moment. And then McHale makes stupid moves he's known for...
With #31 he picks Nikola Pekovic. I've watched him many times this season and he surely is a great player, but most likely he'll never come to NBA. He signed huge contract in Greece so there is no reason to go to USA. Shit. But no time to curse McHale, Jordan keeps dropping. Couple minutes later we're again on the clock and Jordan is still available. I'm praying for Jordan and boom! Mr. Genius takes Mario Chalmers. WTF? He's good player but we had no need for 3rd PG, while not having descent big man other than Al. Later, Mario has been traded to Miami for 2 2nd rounders next year. Potentialy great draft for us turned to be only good, with stupid 2nd round decisions. But still, I'm not unhappy. We got Mayo, Sonics screwed it even more than us. No reason to be mad at anyone. And as it was like 5AM, I've went to bed after few picks as I've expected no significant trades will happen... But I was wrong... I was very wrong... :(

As I woke up today, interesting news were waiting for me. Mayo, Jaric, Walker, Buckner traded to Memphis for Love, Miller, Cardinal and Collins. God damit McHale!!! Why do you have to ruin everything! Fuckin' Cardinal and Collins! Undersized Love and stupid Miller for our package?! At least we could get Darko or Crittenton... Fuck this. Fuck McHale. Fuck Love and his outlet pass... I still can't see any logic in this deal, especially that we had Jordan in our hands.
Hopefully this will work out well for us, but we've most likely again traded superstar. We're making same fucking mistake we did with Roy and Allen.
Screw you guys, I'm going home...

And, I've forgot in all this hate, we have new logo:

KG finally wins it all!

Yeah, KG finally won the Championship! Unfortunately it happened in Celtics uniform but no matter what, such a legend deserved to win it all. CONGRATULATION KEVIN!!!

Latest Draft update

In last couple of weeks nothing really important happened. Some players worked out for the Timberwolves, but my favorites Mayo and Gallinari are yet to do it. From some rumors it's most likely we'll draft Mayo or trade down for Lopez or Love. Interesting rumor was that Miami doesn't like Beasley as much and that they would consider drafting Mayo, so there's a very slim chance that we could end up with Beasley but not so probable. Draft is at June 26. in MSG and all the mysteries will be revealed then. As I said my favorites are Mayo and Gallinari, but I guess that no matter who we draft, we should do well. Cheers :)

No love for Love?

In last couple of days there are many rumors about who will Timberwolves draft. Some of them are really interesting but this loudest rumor about drafting Love really pisses me off.

So DraftExpress.com has reported that McHale is looking to draft Kevin Love out of UCLA. He's 19 years old and had a great season in NCAA, he has nice range, he's good rebounder but I really doubt he will do something significant in NBA. To me he is an pretty undersized big man, and we do not need another undersized player. If he could become descent NBA player he would probably look nice next to Al, but there are many question marks on this guy. And then again we surely won't draft him from #3 so we have to make trade down. That supposes passing out on Mayo, Lopez, Bayless and a couple more players that will probably have better careers than beach boy. There's rumor about trading down to Bucks for Bogut + #8, but I really think there's 0% chances that this will happen. Bucks FO is insane, but not that insane... I say NO to Love. And that means NO under all circumstances! Just when I remember how Anderson dominated Love in their last game. Please McHale don't do this to us. If this really happen, and we again end up with some shitty veteran with that trade down, we should really consider to finding another team to be cheering up. :(
Other rumor is like 50-50 for me. Trading McCants + Craig Smith to Sixers for their #16. Rashad played well last season but somehow he doesn't fit into our system, while I don't consider Smith as somewhat valuable player for Timberwolves. At #16 we could get pretty nice big man. Hibbert will probably be there, Robin Lopez, (Kevin Love :D ) or maybe even some better center. This trade could work nicely for us. Drafting Mayo and Robin Lopez would improve our team nicely. To hell with this, I'm all for making this trade, this could work out very well for us. :)
