Pre-draft update

In my last post, I was all about O.J. Mayo, but since then couple of interesting things happened. To be honest I'm still in for Mayo, but I'm looking into other possibilities as well.
First and really intriguing thing is that some sources say that "McHale was just as excited with Gallinari as he has been since he scouted KG". If this is true, I guess we will draft him, and he could be a real deal for us. In this case we should trade down since I don't see anyone pick him in top5. Trade down to Grizzlies for some of their PG's would be nice and we could get let's say Lowry/Crittenton+Gallinari for #3. Interesting indeed... But there's again one question mark, why would Grizzlies do this. Only if they want Brook Lopez really hard and are afraid that Sonics would draft him, which I don't see happening. There's again one other possibility and that includes second interesting thing that happened in last couple of days.
Knicks are disappointed big time with their draft position. They've hoped for for top3 spot, or even top5 and finished at #6. They wanted potential superstar but are most likely not to get one, so they said that they would trade this pick just to get rid of some bad contracts. I might see a possibility here for Timerwolves. We have a big expiring contract in Walker, and if we draft Mayo with #3, McCant is most likely to be traded. There are some other players that could fill the void but they aren't that important. when saying about Knicks they have bad contracts in almost every player. I wouldn't consider Randolph at all as his contract is really, really bad. Out of the rest I would consider Curry and/or Jerome James(maybe even Malik Rose). I think that a deal Walker+ McCants for Curry + #6 is great for both sides but who knows what Knicks are thinking about. We could even add Telfair(s&t) in this deal to see their response. Just imagine if we could draft Mayo and Gallinari and add a big body in Curry. I'm really excited about what can we get for Walker and McCants...
The third interesting thing is that Chad Ford is reporting that DeAndre Jordan has got a promise he will be drafted in top5. Let's supose that Sonics are not in for a big man that high, only team that remains are Grizzlies. And if they've made that promise, Lopez could fall to #7 or #8. This also gives us a lot of possibilities for a trade down or even getting another pick in top10.

One thing is certain, after getting #3 many possibilities open up for us, and we can hardly have a bad draft, no matter who the front office drafts. With some draft day trade, we could surely get another top15 pick, and let's hope McHale will look into all possibilities and do what's best for team... ;)
